Endocet Vs Oxycodone (Page 8) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI HAVE BEEN ON OXYCODONE FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND MY DRUG STORE RAN OUT AND GAVE ME ENDOCET? SAID IT WAS THE SAME THING BUT MY BODY TELLS ME THAT IT'S NOT THE SAME. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CHANGE?
Hi Dee.....anything is better than actavis. Do not take them. They have given no pain relief n made everyone sick. I haven't taken the endocet but I did read recently that endocet is the only generic made by Percocet brand drug so its the closest in formula. I haven't tried them so u will have to decide that one if u chose to try them. I am now on my first script of the mallinkrodt generic 10/325 Percocet. It took a few days, but its helping a little. Its not making me sick either so im hoping the longer I take them, the better they're work with giving me pain relief. All our bodies are gonna go thru withdrawals n feel like crap until we get ourselves use to another medication. Keep that in mind when trying something new. Whatever uou decide to try, let us know how they're working.
yes, yes, yes !!! they are NOT the same as far as I'm concerned. Actually, I prefer the endocet vs oxycodone ... but I guess that's my preference. Oxy makes me itch ... lol ... seriously .. within an hour after taking, I feel like a monkey scratching under my arms, my belly, my back ... but endocet doesn't seem to do that to me. Don't know why, but maybe it's just me ... ??? .. :/
I get the itching as well as stomach upset, headaches with Oxycodone. When I took the Endocet, the pain got the better of me. It is all trade offs, dependent on what bothers you more.
Sue, u said the pain got the best of u...does that mean the endocet didn't work for u?
Yes Jennifer, that is exactly what I mean. That is the very thing with controlling your pain. I find if I have to stay on top of it or it gets me. I have tried many times to go off my meds for fear I was becoming dependent. Actually, like this morning. When the barometric pressure drops, I experience more pain and a difference in pain. My legs become rubbery, the pain is much worse, and most times I become very sleepy and all I want to do is sleep. These are the only times I sleep right through the night. It could be the way my body metabolizes some of the generics. I cannot take gravol, anti-inflamitories, allergy meds, sinutab and some other meds as they make me restless, irritable and very anxious. It could be just one ingredient in it that does it to me.
Good for you Jennifer! These pharmaceutical companies own us! I have been doing some research on pain and cannabis. I have never liked it because of the THC. They are now finding that it is beneficial for pain and seizure activity. In Colorado, the parents of a child put her on cannabis since she was having over 300 seizures a week. Mom said she wanted to stop the seizures but didn't want to get her five year old high. The grower told her that they had some that no recreational user would by because it was low in THC but high in the other active ingredient , CBD. I would love to find some with next to no THC. Here is the link. If you can, watch "Dr. Sanjay Gupta's documentary on Marijuana and Charlottes Web". If you go to UTube, the second documentary is on there as well. They actually named this strain Charlottes Web after the five year old. Have a look at this...if you have time...worth the watch..... It would be nice to have some alternatives to the crap we have to depend on now. :)
Hi Jen. It's Dee got endocet yesterday. Already feeling relief. I had severe arm pain w/nerve damage. Since taking new medicine nerve pain gone. Still have some musle pain in arm but not as severe. Hoping relief continues. Way better then activis.
Hi sue...ive seen stories and repirts on tv about that...but I think the one ur referring to with the little girl has to do wirh stoppin her seizure s...they take something or other....a liquid that they extract from the marijuana plants n give it to their child...apparently this liquid doesnt make u high at all. I have heard where people who are receiving chemotherapy will smoje pot to help deal but I dont know the details further than that...I think pot smoking is out of our ballpark. Plus, im a single mom of two 6 yr olds, I could never or would never do anything that would interfere or chance doing something that would come inbetween that. Hense the reason im so cautious and do as im expected to with my pain care. With all ive been readin on the internet, im convinced theres mire than meets the eyes when it comes to why walgreens stopped stocking the Watson Percocet. Possibly something to do with walgreens having to settle n pay a 80 million dollar fine when they were accused of being irresponsible when dispensing pain meds.....who knows? Maybe they swapped meds to see how much of a fuss would watson perc users would make.....like they did this as a study to try n prove how addicting that one med alone is....justs a few suspicions I have....I sometimes wonder if we're falling into the trap they predicted would happen by calling the company directly to complain...maybe thats why theyre so willing and eager to call us so promptly. ....I dont know?....again, just some suspicions I have.
I got Endocet for now and asked CVS to give me oxycodone w/acetaminophen next time because I didn't feel like they were helping or giving the same relief. The lady didn't question a thing and said that they were perfectly fine giving me that and they wanted to find what works best for me. Let's see if I can feel a difference.
For sure, will be interesting. Good luck Jen!
Glad to hear ur finding some relief jennifer w. Isnt endocet Percocet w acetaminophen? Generic Percocet. ...anyway, needless to say, Acta"crap" hasnt called me back since I gave their rep an educational course about her employer. Lol. Ive been taking the mallinkrodt 10/325 still. Its ok, ten times better than actacrap.....it helps. but still nowhere near as affective as Watson. It took taking them consistently for awhile to get any pain relief. So whatever you all take next, try and stick with them for a bit to give ur bodies a chance to adapt.
It is the generic form of Percocet but it isn't nearly as effective as the oxycodone w/acetaminophen I was taking from Walgreens. I'm pretty sure they were from different manufacturers. Some work well with some people and some don't.
Ill bet my life u were on the watson generic oxycodone/acetaminophen. .. thats what I were on...they worked the best! Noone carries em anymore since Watson merged with actavis n they decided to use their crap!
They don't work as well, but they work (for me at least) better than the Endocet I'm getting from CVS. I have to take 2 to feel any relief. I guess we'll see how I feel when I take the oxycodone w/acetaminophen next week. There is a difference.. And for the people saying there isn't are *crazy!*
My pharmacy is CVS. I used the Watson brand for a really long time and they worked wonderfully. Then they switched and they didn't work AS well but they did take the pain away and I was still doing just fine. But the Endocet does not work for me unless I take double. And I'd rather not do that.. I only found this out when I was having a really bad back day and I took 2 before bed and I noticed the pain starting to subside a little over an hour later. I only take one (even though I don't notice a thing) during the day.
Jennifer w..mthey went from Watson's to actavis. The actavis is giving everyone problems n not giving any pain relief. ....r u saying the Actavis is helping w ur pain?
That is what I am taking Jen W....here is the "link". It does not say who makes it though. The pharmacy substituted Endocet for this a couple of months ago and I found the Endocet did not help at all compared to this one. This is a white pill, score on one side and TEC on the other.
I guess I can try CVS since endocet works well for me. I have brand name now and I don't like it.
I'm confused. Isn't endocet oxycodone/acetaminophen. For the 10mg/325 is 8.9 active oxy. I am getting more relief from these. Got them from local pharm because walgreens an cvs in my area are only caring activis oxy. Which did absolutely nothing an caused me to have severe muscle pain in my arms. An I find that we can't get any info on what the ingredients are in activis. I wish watson would go back to there brand. I was able to take less and had longer time spand. I'm sure has to do with saving money.
Jenn w....your script bottle says the medicine inside is oxycodone/acetaminophen but doesn't say "generic for Percocet 10/325 with the manufacturers name on it? If not, could u call cvs and tell em u just got ur meds from them n ur bottle doesnt say who makes it so could they tell you? Im really curious as to what they are.
