Effexor Xr And Mirtazapine Side Effects

Ihave been taking both drugs for quite some time but only recently have lost my sense of taste and smell and instead taste and smell only a metallic taste. Also take vitamin c, vitamin B-6 and B-12. I stopped taking everything and my taste and smell have improved but my depression and insomnia hae returned. please advise

Effexor XR contains a time released formulation of Venlafaxine and it appears that both it and the Mirtazapine can cause taste loss, in some people.

Have you discussed the problem with your doctor? You may need a dosage adjustment or require a switch to different medications. There are others on the market that you can try.

In addition, they both cause dry mouth, which can also aggravate the problem and cause the metallic taste.

it is probably the remeron. these meds are hard to get right.
