Effexor And Adderall

I have been taking adderall ir 10mg twice daily and recently was prescribed 75mg Venlafaxine (effexor) one daily. And ive been noticing that my adderall has not been working and have been very out of focused and tired even when taking my medications. I may be building a tolerance to adderall, but that still doesnt explain why it would stop working as well very sudden. Has anyone else experience effexor causing adderall not to be as effective?

You may just be experiencing side effects of the Venlafaxine, it is an SNRI antidepressant that is used to treat various mental health conditions, so it can cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes, as side effects.

Generally, once your body gets used to a new medication, side effects should start to taper off, and eventually disappear entirely. How long have you been taking the Venlafaxine, now? Has there been any change?

when taking amphetamine with effexor (regular) is was a _very_ powerful snDri. The effexor should make the amphetamine work better!

Unfortunately the fda thinks effexor extra release is safer for you than effexor regular. Like I said, effexor was once considered and SNDRI, the D is for dopamine. The new effexor XR seems to block the dopamine response.

when taking effexor you brain will make many changes - this could be the reason for being tired. yes, i have had noticed this before. I would just keep monitoring it with your doc. there are many other options if the effexor doesn't work well for you...

It would seem that the amphetamine would ``speed'' things up - i believe it does; the cost is sleep. yes, amphetamine can make a person sleepy.
