The risk of stomach irritation is about the same, it really depends on you and which one causes you the least amount of annoying side effects. Have you tried the Hydromorphone, yet?
The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
