I have a bicuspid aortic valve (congenital) and want to start duromine, but the leaflet says it's contraindicated, is this really a problem, or just covering their ass. I feel my health is more at risk from my obesity than taking duromine

Hello, Kylie! How are you?

No, if you have some type of heart condition, then stimulants are always contraindicated. They tend to make your heart work harder, which can aggravate some conditions and may put your life in danger.

The active ingredient in is Phentermine, so it could also cause elevated blood pressure. nervousness, headache and insomnia.

Your doctor may okay your taking it and just closely monitor you with regular visits, for awhile, to see how it affects you. It would be best to discuss the risks with them to see what your options might be.

Is there anything else I can help with?
