Driving On Oxycodone 5mg Once At Bedtime

I had a TKA done 6 weeks ago. I am taking 1-2 Oxycodone 5 mg now just at bedtime. I don't like taking it, but I've found I still need it at night for pain management along with Celebrex. I've been told by my Dr. that I can't drive until I am off the Oxycodone. Since I'm only taking it a night am I still ok to drive or not? I don't feel dizzy at night unless I take 2 at a time, and I've not had to do that for a while.

This is a very controversial subject. I can only speak to my experience dealing with 2 clients at the clinic that I am affiliated with. Your feeling of "euphoria" is merely perceptual. If for some reason probable cause was established in a driving related circumstance and you failed the on site Driving under the influence protocol, Law enforcement has legal justification to require further Toxicological evaluations to validate there suspicion of DUI. Both clients I am familiar with Unfortunately failed for driving under the influence of a cds regardless of the legitimacy of that rx as they were indeed prescribed for pain. Obliviously they could have defended against these findings but precedence and financial situation made the feasibility of that impossible. As a result both had their driving privileges suspended and fined. I am not naive and realize that thousands out of necessity must perform the duties of driving or operating machinery on a daily basis while taking these powerful medications. I'm simply passing on the info that I know to be true. I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery with a return to normal functioning state. Regards.
