Dr In Houston, Texas Who Perscribe Hydrocodone

I'm new to the area and need to find a new family Dr who is willing to take care of my chronic pain. Will be satisfied with lortab or norco. Can anyone help me find a good Dr?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may run into some difficulties in this endeavor.

There are 2 reasons why I'm saying this….

The first is due to the fact that there is a movement underway by the FDA and DEA to try to transition chronic pain sufferers into pain management and away from having their pain treated by general practitioners or surgeons, who haven't been specially trained to treat such pain issues.

And going right along with that, due to the risks associated with the use of medications like you mentioned that combine Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone, they are also trying to transition those to only being short-term use medications, such as those that can be prescribed for a week or two after someone has been in an accident, or had surgery.

That said, did you have a doctor that you saw regularly, before moving?

If so, they may be able to refer you to someone that can help. That would most likely be your best bet for getting the help you need.
