Yes, the NHS does list it as a possibility that this antibiotic may reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives and a backup method of protection should be used.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
