Doxycycline Side Effects

Dr prescribed this for my wife n I to keep us from getting sick while going thru ivf, but since I started taking it my gums hurt. Is that a side effect?

The FDA does list it as being known to sometimes cause pain and sores in the mouth as side effects. It can also cause an oral yeast infection, which could cause your gums to be sore. Other typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

It would likely be a good idea to have it checked out, as you may need to switch to a different antibiotic.
