My mother who is 85 years old suffers from double vision. When she was taken to the eye specialist, he checked her eyes. He says it is due to her age. What could be the reason, he does not know. She had vertigo a few months back. Medicine was prescribed. Is it side effect of medicine for vertigo?

If the specialist felt that it was due to her age, then there's a very good chance that it is. As reported by the NIH, aging can cause many eye issues, including failing vision and blurred vision.

As to the side effects of the medication, many of them can also cause vision problems, as side effects, according to the FDA, but I can't tell you anything specific, since you didn't mention which medication she was taking.

Thank you so much. The doctor says that my mom has high blood pressure. ,180/80. Could this be the reason for double vision? She has been prescribed medicine for blood pressure since 12 days.
