Is his case of strep severe? I wouldn't want to stray from the doctor's orders. How long is he supposed to be taking the meds for? Is he having any side effects? Just wondering...
He should take the dose the doctor has prescribed, since that amount is usually what's necessary to fully eradicate the infection.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Keflex as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and non-allergic skin rash.

Has he been experiencing any of the side effects?
