Does This Thin Your Blood

my son just had his wisdom teeth removed. the bleeding doesn't seem to want to stop. he is on Benazepril and Digitek. Do they thin his blood?

Both seem to be cardiac / blood pressure drugs, so it could be very possible that they would affect the amount of bleeding.

Ultimately the oral surgeon should know about him being on these meds so that any additional precautions can be taken.

thanks Mark, as it turns out his meds do not have blood thinners. The oral surgeon finally called and he said all was fine, that he had to dig deeper to remove them. But you are so kind to wish my son well, it made me smile, thanks~ Linda

You're very welcome :) I can sympathize because I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed about 10 yrs ago and was pretty miserable for a week. But then again I mixed up taking my meds and instead of taking 1 antibiotic + 1 pain killer I was accidentally taking 2 pain killers (Vicodin) :S So I was like a puddle of jelly for days but got an infection in my mouth, go figure. Anyways, let us all know if you have anything to add about your son's meds and how his recovery may be affected by them.
