Hi I'm using oralcon and is the first time in my life that I'm using a contraceptive. I started with the white tablets in the middle and I'm already on the red tablets and my menses has come earlier than its suppose to, and besides I just take the pills at random is there any side effect to that?
Hi I'm presently taking the oralcon red pils but I in turn to conceive in the month of February 2017 and want a male child when is the best time for me to stop taking the pils and also the the best to meet with my husband?
Hello Lizzy,
These medications are both contraceptives that contain the active ingredients ethinyl oestradiol and levonorgestrel. Since the medications are composed of the same active ingredients and are so similar in dosages, you may not experience any changes while swapping to Oralcon. However if you feel that you are experiencing adverse symptoms please consult your doctor.
Here is some information regarding the administration of the medication.
According to the manufacturer's website Triphasil pill colors do the following
The six brown tablets of TRIPHASIL contain 30µg ethinyl oestradiol and 50 µg levonorgestrel.
The five white tablets contain 40 µg ethinyl oestradiol and 75 µg levonorgestrel
The ten yellow tablets contain 30 µg ethinyl oestradiol and 125 µg levonorgestrel.
The seven red tablets are inert.
According to the manufacturer's website Oralcon pills colors are as follows
The 21 white tablets of Oralcon contain contains levonorgestrel 150 mcg and ethinyl estradiol 30 mcg.
The 7 red pills are inert.
If your doctor has instructed you to start your next package of pills on the 7 red pills you can immediately start taking the Oralcon ones as they are placebos for both medications. When you finish your 7 red inert pills you can then start taking your 21 white Oralcon tablets unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.
I hope this information helps.
