As reported by the FDA, this medication does not become dangerous once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so it may no longer work as well as it did, when new. It would be best to dispose of the expired medication.
The typical side effects of this medication may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.
