Does Lorantidine Contain Sulfa

I took lorantidine and ive swollen bad i broke out vaginally.and all the outside area os very swollen and i want to know if sulfa is in this med.im also burning all over.

I hope not in sulfa family. been taking this for allergies to irrantants. helps keep phylem down and out.

Hi Coco,

I haven't come across any specific details here suggesting that loratadine contains sufla. However I think it may be a good idea to ask your doctor for an allergy test to at least see if you're allergic to loratadine regardless of whether or not it contains sulfa.

When I look at loratadine-related allergies on NIH.gov, they only list swelling & hives on the extremities, face, throat or mouth; but nothing outside of that. So I wonder if you may just be experiencing an unusual side effect?

Nevertheless, it sounds to me like loratadine may be the culprit if you never had these symptoms prior to treatment...

If you haven't done so already, I would encourage you to discuss this with your doctor just to be on the safe side. He/she may recommend switching medications in the event that these symptoms escalate or don't go away on their own.
