I bought 100 amoxicillin caps about 3 years ago and stored them in a dark place and I was curious if they would still be good to take.

I wish people would just answer the question instead of becoming God and throwing in their unwanted "opinions". TY I am also interested in this question's answer . If a capsule "A 45" does loose potency..how much how long?

I am really sick. Had a cold for a week and now I am getting bronchitis. Have no insurance. Can I take amoxicillin from 2005, 11 years after the fact? Your help is appreciated.

KRISTEN, Maybe you should brush up your facts a bit before putting your ENTIRE RUDE FOOT IN YOUR MOUTH! You can purchase large bottles of Amoxicillian in some countries. People purchase the larger bottles at much lower prices to have them around during the year for general infections.. I just purchased a bottle of 200 for only $5.50 when I traveled abroad.

what about some i had prescribed for bad teeth that will be gone soon would its weakened form still be enough to hold it off for a few months and they arent quite a year old yet

What if the amoxicillin is only about a month expired? I thought I took it all and I have a cold right now. Was looking for something else and noticed they were in my bathroom drawer. Would they still be safe with being only about 1 month old?

I got mine in Mexico over the counter. If you do need one they will write one for you. So that is why I have it around.

The miltary extends their tablet and capsule form amoxicillin expirations by 12 to 66 months. They can hold up to 90% of their efficacy for 66 months in the ideal environment... most people don't store medicine in a dark, cold, and dry place though. Bottom line... it won't hurt you... at worst it is degraded to a point where it won't help. And too all the people bashing on self treatment.... the United states medical system is a joke... I know when I have an infection, I know when I just have a cold, I know when and what I need from a doctor 99% of the time... the only reason I have to go to the doctor to get it, is because everyone wants a cut of the money.

Why not if they saved it. It's amoxicillin it's not illegal. I save stuff up in my cabinet I don't finish most ppl do.
