Does Tryptomer 10 Mg Cause Reflux?

my mother is taking this for over a year, she has GERD now, mild cough not like normal cough, also has a history of high BP for 25years. any advice, shud she change the medicine?

Tryptomer contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is an antidepressant.

Has her doctor given an opinion on what caused the GERD?

There are several possibilities.

One, of course, is that it could be from the medication.

However, is she also on blood pressure medications?

If so, they are much more likely to cause the acid reflux, than the Tryptomer is.

She may need to switch medications or it could be as simple as adding a medication that will reduce the amount of acid produced by her stomach, such as:

She should also watch her diet and avoid any highly acidic foods and beverages.
