What type of effect do you think Lyrica will have on a first-time female patient that weighs 125lbs?

I'm taking 300 mg for my neuropathy and it's not helping me a bit. What else can I take? I have tried Neurontin and all of them and nothing seems to work. My feet burn so bad I cry at night and I'm 67 years old and been through hell and back, but this pain is unbelievable. Plus I have chronic pancreatitis. My pancreas is completely gone and I can't get a f****** pain pill anywhere. I'm here in Bangor Maine and it's bad, real real bad. They don't care anymore about older people. My Dr at Acadia hospital, she's not a doctor. She's a nurse practitioner piece of s***. I've been on Adderall for 20 years, Ambien for 20 years, I've been on Klonopin since I was 20 (47 years), and he took me off everything. I am like a fish out of water and I'm ready to pop. Where can I get some help please?
I agree with jules, try other medicine first.
You don't take 300mg at the same time! You take 100mg 3 times a day. That should keep you from feeling out of your mind. If you want to boost your opiates it should do that. If you are looking to catch a buzz, then 300mg at the same time has that effect but I don't recommend that.
Hello, Peg! How are you?
Lyrica is not a narcotic, nor is it related to them. It is actually not any type of analgesic.
It is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with some mood disorders and certain types of nerve pain, due to the action is has in the brain. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, mood swings and dry mouth.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Depends on the dose. I am a 140lb female who was on no medication & took 150mg & was totally wiped out to the extent that i would hurt myself & not even feel it but dependence grows quickly & the withdrawals are the worst ever - google it & read the horror stories. Please please approach this drug with caution, especially if you have an addictive personality.
