I am having a hard time finding a dr in staten island NY. Even after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 3years ago& being prescribed oxycontin for almost 2 years my dr has moved his practice& no other doctors are willing to help me the same way my last doc was now with him not around& me off the meds I was on for so long my pain from MS has progressed I do have all mri's& documents that state I do have MS. Can I be helped??
Does anyone know of a pain management dr in Suffolk NY that won't give such a hard time prescribing? I don't want to take up everyone's time with mine during long story. Let's just say I was in a car accident some years back. I had third-degree burns the whole left side of my body was basically broken or shattered. I recently found a mass in my neck which causes extreme pain and just had surgery for that. On top of that I work physical labor so I am constantly in pain. A few doctors I went to gave me a hard time because of the break in between when I was taking it til now. I am 5 min away from stony brook. Any and all help is appreciated
Hello, hey where is this guy looked him up he is a ghost.
My pm doctor cut my medicine in half after being on mscontin 60mgs three a day. After five years he isn't complaining about the dea. It's not fair. I need that original dose. My spine is very bad, compression fractures & wedged disk. Long island is hard, don't go to stonybrook related doctors. They suck s***. I want to kill myself.
I haven't been able to find anyone yet. I don't have the 50$ co-pay to pay for shots. I've been there done that.
Hi Chrissy, I am new to SD as well, any luck getting on a pain management program?

Hi I'm having the same problem. Have you found anyone. Please don't let Prince have died of a overdose of Percocet. That isn't gonna make things easier.
Hi just went in to see Dr at pain management in Deer Park long island. What a waste of 50 bucks. What do you need to give to Dr kirk, he's wants to give me injections and that's it. He's states I have been on pain meds to long. How old of a doc is he?
You have no right to judge. Obviously you don't understand real pain.

I can pay co pays for someone reliable and helpful to end this pain for me.
I get upset a lot thinking about not being able to wear heals, or just go out with my family just living a day to day lifestyle is hard for me. I'm not doing what I love to do which is work in the medical field and work sitting behind a desk instead :(
Thank you I really appreciate your help.
Dr poole was your doctor??? Cause he was my doctor closed November and I can't find a doctor and have all my mri papers discs everything..it's crazy cause I gotta beg friends mother to get some of hers to feel normal and walk...
You aren't disabled. Register at a methadone clinic. You'll feel better. Leave your poor doctor's alone. don't let them make you worse.
I'm a 27 year old female with a painful form of degenerative muscular dystrophy, progressive rheumatoid arthritis, epilepsy, and a tbi and spinal chord progression injury that herniated and dessicated all discs and disc spaces between c3 and t2 and l2 and s1. I also have rsd and pain in in my arms that can best be described by the definition of akathisia- as though fire ants are crawling through the nerves in my arms, mostly my forearms, and the only relief I've ever gotten other than my current pain medicine is flicking my arms and I get maybe two seconds of relief before I have to jerk them again.
I live in chronic pain everyday but this symptom is by far the worst symptom I've ever experienced. As minor as it sounds it makes my life a nightmare a nightmare
My current neurologist has been prescribing 2 mgs of clonazepam odt 4 times a day and 125mcg of fentanyl patches every 48 hrs. My neurologist is now closing his practice as of November 30th and i cant find a doctor who prescribes controlled medications. Even one of my epilepsy medications is controlled. I've been on these meds for over 8 years now and my insurance does not cover more holistic methods of pain management.
My conditions are so severe that I have no quality of life without these patches and I'm unsure of what to do. I have one weeks worth of medication left. I am willing to drive anywhere in Suffolk or Nassau County, but someone please give me some guidance or names of Dr I could call. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm beginning to panic
Looking for reliable pain doc for pain meds in san diego.....have Lupus and severe post surgery back issues....any help would be appreciated
I'm looking for a Doctor to prescribes med"s for my R.S.D. and the pain in my knee's and back. I have a pain Doctor but I went away on Vac and when I came back he said he would no long prescribes and pain med's as I didn't come back (fly) 1,000 miles to see him. so now I'm in pain and he doesn't care. nice ha?
I have been under the same Doctor's care for 18 years for chronic back pain and PTSD/severe panic attack disorder. I am currently and have been taking Xanax 2mg as time goes by the dose gets increased I have also been taking the Vicodin 10/325 for the chronic pain due to scoliosis as a child but now the pain is getting worse as the lumbar curve is inching to the left side causing me to fall with no notice I get a sharp pain it radiates to the left I lose my footing and I'm on the ground. My doctor has now decided not to treat any of his patients for pain and I have now moved to a small town in Florida 2 miles outside of Georgia, I found a Doctor about 90 minutes away so I can get back into pain management and get back on my medications. The doctor said they are getting a pain management clinic close to me where I won't have to be driven so far from my home. I am not getting any response or calls from this new doctor I won't drive as I never know when this pain will hit causing myself or others harm via accident. I am 50 years old and am basically home bound. What do I have to do or what can I do to get the ball rolling. I can't sleep the pain is so intense. Due to the new law my Doctor does not rx any meds only this pain management place that may or may not exist. What can I do??? Living in Florida makes it harder because it's Florida buy I have all documentation needed. Does anyone in or near my area familiar with a pain management clinic or a doctor who will put me back on my meds so I have some sort of life?? I live in Jennings Florida painfully, now dealing with Insomnia on top of the Panic attacks. 18 years and I can not believe there isn't a Dr. out here that is willing to help. This is not a recent situation. If there is no quality of life if I can't drive, walk my dog for fear of falling or even light exercise which I was able to do before to keep my muscles from stiffening or putting on weight as that will only make the pain worse, what kind of life do I have at the middle age of 50? None, just a snowball effect which will lead to more problems.
Looking for a dr to prescribe hydrocodone for arthritis in my neck. Been to a couple
Of Drs that only want to give me 5 at a time and tell me that should last me for 6
Months. When I get a flare up I can't even move my neck for days and 5 pills doesn't even get me through it. I've been doing therapy but it feels like it makes it worse. I'm in Maryland near Annapolis. if anyone can suggest a dr I'd be most grateful! Ty!
