Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Medication In Rochester, Ny (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Hi I am trying to find a doctor in the Rochester, NY area that will prescribe hydrocodone or oxycodone. I am even willing to travel to Buffalo area, that is how hard it is to find a doctor that just doesn't want to give you a bunch of shots that don't work. I have been on opiates for 15 years. I just recently left my pain doctor that was prescribing me fentanyl. I asked to be switched to something not as strong and an oral medication. I hated the patches. She refused and wrote me for a month and told me to find a different doctor. Now I am in a pain management setting that will only do inj's., I just want to be pain free and be able to play with my daughter again. I feel horrible when she asks when my back is going to be fixed. She is only 5 so she doesn't understand. I can barely function at work, scared I am going to get fired. Please Help.

I a ur sister on this delimma. I was on Norco for 5 yrs about 10 yrs ago. 10mg 325mg. 3 tabs. 3 times a day
Became tolerant after 7 yrs. And stopped taking them. Was put on methadone 30 mg 3-4 times. The pain never really goes away. But it helps me live life and allows me to perform simple daily tasks. I fell about 6 months ago ended up in a rehab center in a nursing home. The therapy was good. But I was grossly under medicated. Was horrible.
Now I'm having an extremely hard time trying to find a doctor in CA who is not afraid to prescribe the dosage I've been taking for the past 10 yrs when I lived in Chicago. This doc has me on Norco,102
1 tab q 4 - 6 hrs. Does nothing to help. Been dealing with this arthritis pain and whole body nerve pain for 14 yrs. Tired of all this Hassel chronic pain pts. get because of the anbusers. Has nothing
To do with legit pain patients.

Upstate pain clinic on Sully's trail just dismissed me after years of pain meds. To be told he will not give out pain meds any more.he is switching to medical marijuana.. Not cheap initial visit for this is $250.then each visit after is $100-150. And you have to get approved for a card to go to a dispensary. Good luck ,I was told. That I was going to be cut off and never switched to anything else. Dr said I'm sorry but basically told to deal with it chronic pain due to arthritis, birth defects and spinal stenosis. In other words deal with it.

I stumbled across your site. Is the site to help people who suffer from chronic pain find Dr's that are still willing to prescribe pain meds for those who truly need them?

And if so could you please tell me how to become a member. It has become harder and harder to find Doctors who are willing to prescribe and those that do in my areas are usually at full compacity and are not taking any more patients.

I live in upper NY area around Ithaca/Corning/ Binghamton/ Elmira area.

I am very desperate because the ones that are taking patients only want to push some sort of electrical stimulator that needs to be inserted into my neck and I am not willing to have that done as of yet.

Please get back to me at your earliest convenience.
