Doctors Willing To Prescribe Oxycodone In Phoenix (Page 7)
UpdatedPlease please please someone direct me to a doctor who will listen and prescribe the amount of oxycodone my son needs. Pain management clinics are a joke and fall short of what we know will keep him comfortable until they can do the therapy or procedures that may be able to get him out of pain so he doesn't have to take it. He only needs 60 mg a day in 4 15 mg doses. That is what we've found works and makes it so he doesn't get sick from the meds and is out of the considerable pain he is in. He can't work because they won't give him enough to function. I have spent so much money I dont have to take care of him! He has Ahccs healthcare coverage! They only give him 3 10mg pills a day which falls short of the care he needs and is in so much pain. I am at my wits end! We are in Gilbert Arizona and need a doctor who will listen to the patient so we can pursue the other surgical and therapy options! He has a degenerative disc problem.

Re: Kens (# 98)
A lot of people asked for a doctor who will prescribe pain medicine that they need and you post that if someone give you a doctor you share your doctor I don't think that's right if you can help someone with a doctor help them don't make it a trade-off.
Re: J2thaZ (# 4)

Re: Cece (# 125)
your doctor is probably in jail. I doubt that you can get anything close to that since the policy now is 90mg MME. That means 90 mgs of Morphine or Morphine equivalent. Oxycodone is 1.5 times for the equivalent. Example 10 mgs of oxycodone equals 15mgs of Morphine.
Re: Chuck (# 8)
Do you still have this doctors list available? If so please let me know. Thank you

Re: ANTHONY (# 119)
Yes, we all are going to continue to suffer even more come the 1st of the year. Here in Phoenix area if you were blessed to have found a doctor to work with you at a Pain Clinic level your insurance company put new guild lines into effect in Jan especially if you have a Medicare Advantage plan. So much for making sure the elderly were going to be pain free. They have put quantity limits at low levels, moved them to different tiers so you can't afford the copay and now Doctors have to send more letters as to why you have to even have the meds even if they are the ones the said yes he's a doctor you can go to. Since the last 3 years I've gone through all the blocks and ablasions he's required I'm just about done with him. Even tho my chronic pain syndrome is the same and will always be with me the doctors are tired of jumping through all of the hoops the insurance companies are requiring of them. His game plan for me the first of the year is to get me off of the pain med's and go with a pain simulator which I will not do. So my only alternative will be to be zoned out on a Medical Mary Jane card and drift away. Problem is I can't afford that either. Merry xmas and a Happy New Year to all...

Please help me.
Re: Fling Unicorn75 (# 135)
What is the pain clinic you're speaking of? I'm looking for a new pain Dr asap. I've been on 30mg oxy 5 x's a day for around 3 years now. Was on dilaudid and 15mg oxy for breakthru prior to this (since 2010) this last 3 years have been the best as I've only needed the 30mg and nothing for break thru. I also take tizanadine 4mg 4 x daily as needed. I've had 2 ankle surgeries, 4 right knew surgeries (need replacement) 2 left knew surgeries and 3 right shoulder surgeries (have multiple anchors in shoulder) i also suffer from severe peripheralneuropathy. So basically need to find a Dr that will keep me on my current meds as they avidly give me a quality life that's is worth living and left me would a full-time job. If I don't have the meds I can't even function. Have great insurance but will also pay cash if needed. Please post Drs in the easy valley preferably.
Thanks

Hi there, as long as you have valid documents, you're in. A suggestion, ask to see the PA, her last name is Benita. The male doc, Dr. Towns is not very understanding.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a pain Dr or even a PCP that will take over my care as my Dr that's been writing Mt scripts for the last 3 years has said he'll be unable to after this month, sobering about the DEA. So here's a bit of my backstory.
My life taking opiate pain meds started after my second knee surgery and 1st ankle surgery in 2010/2011. I was sent to a pain management Dr after the pain my poison levels never dropped after surgery/recovery. I was seeing Dr Papoe in mesa Ann's her started me on dilaudid 4mg 4 x day with 10mg Norco for breakthru as needed. This combo worked for a time being but never really had me our of pain, more like took the edge off. Fast forward a few months and I talked to my PCP and he agreed to take over my pain management that way I only had to go to one Dr a month, saving me time and money. He diagnosed me with CPS/CRPS. He took me off the Norco and put me on 15mg oxy for breakthru plus the dilaudid. This seemed to be a good combo for a year or longer. I ended up having a few more knee surgeries left and right and the pain started getting worse, but still manageable with what I was taking. I ended up getting injured at work and needed a shoulder surgery. My orthopedic who had done multiple knee surgeries and knew my history ended up taking over my care as my PCP ended up losing his ability to write prescriptions (apparently he was writing for abusers?). Thanks for ruining it for us that truly need these meds!
While I was being treated by my orthopedic Dr the workers comp lawyers made me go to a pain management Dr of their choosing. I did with no complaints ast first. This Dr a nice lady Dr Sheba Shaw took me off of the oxy after I took a DNA analysis that showed my body metabolized the meds very quickly and put me on a Fentanyl patch and a pretty high dosage. I would apply one patch every 3 days. These worked ok but i almost died from using them. I went for a day at the lake with friends and didn't know and wasn't told that if I go out in the heat that the patch could dump all the 3 days worth of narcotic at once. So needless to say I stopped taking these asap! Whew I told the Dr she didn't seem that fazed. Well being I'm not wanting to die at the moment my lawyer got me back uber the treatment of my orthopedic. After a year of adjusting dosages etc we finally stuck with 30mg every 5 hours 150ct a month and 4mg of tizanidine every 6 hours or as needed. This was my miracle I'd been hoping for. I was feeling more like my old self and wanting to get out and get back to work (I hadn't worked in almost 3 years) I had also gained a lot of weight. So just after 3 or so months on third regiment I was active again and living life, I lost over 70lbs and went back to work full time. Now I'm in need of a Dr that'll nor try to lower my meds or change my meds, i have all my records etc that show I've never abused my meds etc. Inj. don't work either as were tried them also.
If anyone has any recommendations for a great pain Dr or PCP please left me know. I had great insurance and don't mind paying cash for office visits either. I just don't want to lose everything I've got going now, a life, job, home and family.
Thank you
Re: Muzzelfuzz (# 139)
as long as your dose is not over 90 MME per day they should not lower it. It cannot equal more than 90 mg of Morphine. Example 10 mg of oxycodone equals 15 mg of morphine. Look on line and see what how your meds compare to morphine. Also, I don't think pharmacies will fill a an opiate script if you don't have insurance at least in Arizona they don't. Try The Pain Center of Arizona they usually work with you up to the legal limit. It sounds like you have the documentation to get the max allow.
