Doctors Willing To Prescribe Exalgo In Indiana

Updated

Hello, I was doing wonderfully with my myriad chronic neck and back pain on 16mg Exalgo (generic is hydromorphone extended release) for 3 years with the same doctor, no other pain medication, simply ONE pill/day and never built up a tolerance! I'm certain I don't have to say how very rare THAT was, because it was for ME, as well. After being treated with many potent pain medications that would just quit working after a few weeks, going through endless rounds of useless inj's., one doctor started forcing me to get them done 3 times a week, thereafter I discovered most of the inj's. aren't supposed to be performed more than every three months at the MOST! Due to all the new laws, and also because he is extremely greedy; the doctor who formerly prescribed the Exalgo for me has now become a Suboxone doctor rather than a pain management doctor. He cut me off without weaning me off the medicine so now I suffer at the FOR PROFIT methadone clinic which is located 2 1/2 hours away from my home and costs $125/week plus gas money.
I have now lost my job because of this and am in constant pain because the methadone is watered down to 50/100 meaning that it's only half medication. I was a bit suspicious so I had it evaluated at an independent laboratory. They deny everything. I desperately need a pain doctor in South Central Indiana!!!!! Please, Please help me, if ANYONE out there knows about a doctor who would write the Exalgo!!! I have private insurance or I'd pay cash and I NEVER fail U/A's! I'm begging anyone.... Thank you....

I tried Dr. Mimms. No longer accepting new patients. That was last year. I appreciate the tip though, you were the only person kind enough to answer. Not even my PSYCHIATRIST, DR. BOJRAB, will help me. In fact, HE WENT TO MED SCHOOL with Dr. MIMMS so you'd think he'd help me out with THAT NAME, perhaps a referral since he's been my doc for going on 10 years...?? Nope. And the clinic just gets worse and WORSE! From the quality of the employees to the quality of the (DONATED to clinic) methadone. After they went PRIVATELY OWNED by ACADIA HEALTHCARE the place has gone from terrible to INTOLERABLE. Acadia is a multibillion dollar multi NATIONAL corporation. So why can't they pay the counselors and nursing staff enough money to stop them from QUITTING?? And what EXACTLY IS their NAME?

I don't even KNOW ANYMORE but I pay $112/wk for methadone that tastes like it came out of a corpse and does NOT work correctly and they tack on a monthly $40-120 EXTRA/MO because my psychiatrist knows that I need Xanax ER, which THEIR INSANE LAB insists that everybody who takes any benzodiazipines of ANY TYPE their levels of that benzo are too high for their scale to even measure. I had the same evaluation done for a comparison. I had to do it twice due to the scarcity of alprazolam in my system. 2nd time it read 2.3 n/m. My psychiatrist yelled at me for NOT TAKING MY XANAX

Dilaudid really shouldn't be prescribed outside of an inpatient setting. It's too potent. A lot of doctors were getting too liberal with fentanyl and dihydromorphone and this is why we have this "epedemic".

I live in Indiana and I think this medication should be reserved for patients in the ER and intensive care. If you're walking around before you took it you should still be walking around afterward. Are doctor's perfect? no.

Try coping with oxycodone with the rest of us. You wouldn't need methadone UNLESS you became an "addict".
