Does anyone know of a doctor in Florida prescribing hydrocodone for chronic pain?

Just moved to Fort Myers. My drs up north have me on Alprozolam for many years due to a very traumatic event. My Ins co recommended some drs and after having to keep reliving the event every dr says says they won’t write for it. I have absolutely no idea what to do. Anyone have ideas?

Can you please help me find a pain clinic that will continue my 3mg daily methadone as well as 2mg Xanax? (.05 4× daily)? I'm in Ocala, Fl. My mother has dementia & is on the 50mcg fentanyl patch. I'm afraid she will die from failure to thrive if they cut her off. We need dire help!

I've had cancer, two back surgeries and other things, but I'm in chronic pain and I need a Dr who prescribes 15mg oxycodone and fentanyl patches in Port St Lucie, Florida. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

My husband needs better pain meds that can help him with his pain. He has ALS and back pain from back problems. The doctor we have gives him a low dose of norco to help, but it really doesn't even touch his pain. He is in so much pain and needs real relief. We live in Spring Hill Florida and are looking for a doctor who can help with his pain. Please help him.

I have metasized cancer and I'm very close to passing away. The doctor who I use to see (he didn't write much) put me out bc I would not file for a divorce, move in with him, etc. He is however in major trouble and I'm sure he will be paying me a lot of money & lose his license in the current state. It's amazing at how drs choice their patients

Have you ever thought you could be making a person who is eat up with malignant, metasized cancer? Or someone who is severely damaged for life after a horrible car wreck? If you are following all the requirements than you have no problem.

I'm from Maryland and I moved my elderly parents down to help them out, unfortunately now I'm having a hard time finding a doctor for my father (he is bedridden and needs double knee replacement's but is VERY high risk due to multiple heart issues) When he moved down here he was walking however due to increased pain and little to NO meds, he can not even get out of bed on his own, let alone stand or walk, ANY HELP you can give to point me in the right direction would be VERY much appreciated as the guilt of this being MY FAULT weighs heavier with each passing day, as I watch him deteriorate......

ANYBODY please help - I have had 6 hip surgeries in the last 4 years, with chronic severe pain, but no er doctor, primary care will give me strong meds. They sent me to Pain Management who says in a month they can see me. I cannot go a month with this bone pain. I have Florida Healthcare. I am in Ormond. ANY HELP? Today?? {edited for privacy}

Chris, look in Florida Revised Statues regarding laws governing Physicians and also Pharmacy Laws. The drs say it because the patients won't argue with them. Even if you take a copy of the laws proving any licensed physician with a dea number and CDs license can prescribe pain meds for any patient that doesn't mean they will. It is each drs individual choice what they prescribe. You also have no way of knowing what a Dr prescribes other patients. You can also go to the DEA website and read the manuals for physicians and pharmacists regarding Schedule II meds. I've seen signs up in drs offices saying they don't prescribe pain meds and I've seen several of these same drs prescribe pain meds for regular patients. The signs are to cut down on drug seekers.

Christine-I am in wheelchair need help in Daytona,Port Orange area where my 12yr plus dr. left me suddenly (he was in Port Orange) I need advocate-help locating new dr. since so difficult to travel (& painful ). Please help me find new dr.?

BL-Can you tell me where the law states a dr. not need be pain specialist to prescribe pain meds in FL? My primary said he can only once for emergency til I find pain dr. the another gen.practice dr. I had appt. with told me legally he can no longer write pain med scripts. So why do they believe this if you say not true?

goldilocks-did you find new phone for dr. carrozella? Dr. Webster in Kissimmee gave me his phone but was disconnected.....also Christine did you pls have info for Daytona/Ormond/port orange drs? I live here!!

It may also be helpful to get copies of your medical.records from the Dr where you use to live. Although you may not be able to find a Dr that will rx you what you took before.

Goldilocks-I was referred by interventional dr. in Kissimme to go to Dr. John Carrozzella but when calling his office not there-got recording phone # disconnected. Also checked google online & found no new phone #'s so not sure when you heard that he was good dr. prescribing but it must be recent he closed since my apt with other referring dr. was about 3 weeks ago. Do you by chance have new info about this?

I've been a fibromyalgia, degenerative joint and disc disease, and chronic back pain sufferer for the past 15 years, due to many long years of hard factory work, and however else these pain and degenerative issues are caused. I lived in VA and was getting my Methadone and Duregesic patches for 15 years, but my spouse was transfered to Daytona Beach in March 2015, and I can no longer find a pain dr that is willing to prescribe me even the minimum amount of my meds, even though I have been able to find a pharmacy to fill them, which was a chore itself. Can anyone tell me if there are any drs that prescribe these pain meds near me? I have recent x-rays from here in Florida and bloodwork. Any positive information would be helpful. Thank you.
