Doctors In Northern Virginia That Will Prescribe Pain Meds (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have tried every pain med there is. I'm allergic to the slow release meds. What ever is in them that let's them release slow brakes me out in hives. It took almost two years of trying diffrant meds to find the one that works. Now the Rehab center says after about 8 years they will not prescribe my oxycodone anymore.if that's not Bad enough the new doctor only gave me enough to get though for a week are two. I followed everything that was asked of me. And now they say management will not after having me being depended on the meds write for my meds. There should be some type of law againest that. Anyway I need a doctor like yesterday are I'm in for a very rough time. I have arthritis in my shoulders and had five(5) surgeries on them alone not to include knee, hands and disc problems in my neck. Please someone help.

When I asked about my records they said the computer system was up graded. And that they are letting all the patients go that receive pain meds. And yes I knew the risk when I got my RX and I know the risk of going cold turkey off of pain meds. And going off of pain meds everybody says try Suboxone Suboxone is a addictive too and it seems to me going off one to the other is just as bad. But you are right it is what it is as long as our government has control over the doctors this whole country is in deep trouble.

You need to find a Pain Management Dr. I seriously doubt that a PCP will rx these meds for you, although legally they can but it is up to each dr to decide of they want to. A dr is under no obligation to continue to treat you with any meds. It doesn't matter why they were being prescribed. You knew the risks of taking these meds and you accepted it every time you got a rx filled.
You may want to get a copy of your medical records to see exactly what they have put in there about why they stopped rxing you the meds. Depending on what it written in the medical records, you may or may not be able to find another dr to rx the meds you've been taking. Any new dr will want to get a copy of the medical records from your previous treating source.
I was diagnosed having ADD 20yrs ago and had been on Adderal(misspelled) for the past 19 yrs until I had to get a new PCP because mine retired and the new PCP won't write it for me. He says because I am not a student I don't need it...boy is he bad wrong. I skip from doing one thing to another never completing any one task. It has gotten to be so bad that I have thrown up my hands and ready to give up. Of anyone should know of a PCP that would possibly RX it to me in the North Alabama area PLEASE let me know. #loosing control
