Doctors In Nj That Prescribe Oxycodone (Page 5)

Updated

Help, Seeking new Doc in NJ (Middlesex/Monmouth County areas) I have been going to a pain mgmt. doctor who was giving me oxycontin ER 40mg twice a day and 10mg Percocet 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. They have cut my meds in half in the last 2 months, I have always taken meds correctly and never had a dirty UA. My levels were always good. I have bulging and herniated discs and am in a lot of pain. They are cutting everyone down on meds because of over medicating some patient etc.. (and now everyone pays). I want to find new pain doctor who will give me what I was originally taking does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks for the help. please get back to me with suggestions. Thanks Again. want to find new doc before my next appointment

Folks,

I know this isn't what you want to hear but unless you are terminally ill the windbags in Trenton (the DIShonorable governor Chris Christie) War on Opioids has limited the prescribing of controlled substances to a 5 day supply for "acute" pain. If further relief is required a follow up appointment is needed where they can dispense an additional regimen for said opioids. Further pain relief must be addressed by pain management where this treatment is considered a "CHRONIC" pain designation. The problem being most pain management providers in NJ ALSO LIMIT the use of oral narcotic pain meds as well. The days of monthly supplies are history. If your blessed enough to find a LIBERAL pain management provider he MAY prescribe Vicodin or similar strength Rx's but in greatly reduced quantities. THE MAJORITY ARE FOCUSING ON INTERVENTIONAL TECHNIQUE'S. Most in need of narcotics are now FORCED to travel out of state where restrictions MAY NOT be as tightly enforced. Even in surrounding north east states it's a crap shoot and REPEATED prescribing of schedule II meds are the EXCEPTION not the rule. I wish I had better news to report but for those PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, TRAVELING TRYING TO CONVINCE THESE BARBARIC PRESCRIBERS THAT YOU REQUIRE SOMETHING STRONGER OR THAT MAY HAVE IN THE PAST WORKED BEST, UNLESS THEY ASK, BECAUSE more times than not they will document this as drug seeking behavior. There is the exception that when hospitalized for surgery or traumatic pain conditions medical providers are free to use their medical judgement to prescribe without fear of retribution from oversight regulatory agencies. I hope this information assists you in understanding what WE, THE LEGIT CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERER'S IN THIS STATE ARE UP AGAINST.

Bugatti Bluezz,

I don't understand why you would need a referral to get into this dr #1 and I am on four or five of these blogs and I see people say I know a dr here but you need this refferal. That's not right cause I see on here multiple times and multiple blogs seeing the same thing that someone knows someone here blah blah they really help me....well ok that's awesome but it seems like people on here just keep dangling drs in front of people but do not give the info.....it's a private blog for a reason and FYI to everyone they block out your email so don't even type that cause it's useless......I have not found any leads on here and I haven't had the right medications in two yrs now. They even tried me on medication that almost killed me so if you have a dr who you know will help people on here share the love, refferal or not....if you don't or can't share which I think is bulls*** since this blog was made to SHARE...you don't have to give your personal info on here and sometimes you can't but just at least you can give that person hope in their life....we are all miserable and in pain so just think of that before you put out that info, "is this going to help anyone or just make me look like a fool? " Hhmmm

Hi Bettina, I go to university pain mgmt. In Somerset NJ and they also have an office in Monroe NJ. Mind you I'm in EXTREME agony everyday! He just keeps lowering and lowering. I was doing OK, bearable pain with the 15's but just got lowered to the 10's. Which are not helping me at all! I don't want to feel high, I just want to be able to get up and be happy but with this pain as a constant thorn in my side, my agony shows thru to my beautiful 12yr old whom is also affected when I can barely get her off to school or most of the things we used to. I'm hoping some miracle happens and someone steps up to help me? I have to talk to the Dr. again and I pray I don't get looked down upon? I wish he could be me for just one day! Anyway that's where I go. Nice place, Dr seems nice but some reason they try to say my pain isn't real? That I'm just used to being on high doses of meds. I'm in too much pain too even look for new place just worn out from it all.

Carmine, I wrote to you a few days ago on here. I guess you didn't see it? Now doing more horrible than you can ever imagine! Got lowered to the 10's and scheduled for another B/S inj. that doesn't ever work! And do nothing but rock back and forth in unbearable pain! I read your last post and replied to it, sorry you went thru all of that, unfortunately similar things happen to me, they have my PMP, MRI, records, etc.. In advance. I waste my time filling out huge new patient packet, travel, waiting time in office for a 3 minute consult for them to say sorry I can't help you and bill my Medicare hundreds of dollars for a bulls*** consult! They already knew before I even got there they weren't helping me! They are committing insurance fraud! I'm going to call Medicare and tell them not to pay Everyone of them! I got lowered to the 10's on my last visit and in so many words accused of possibly being an addict. I'm in too much pain to even look anymore, just worn out of it all. I'm in so much pain I can't stand it. I need to keep trying my 12yr old gets so upset when all I can do is stay in bed most days and explain to her about my back, hips, and hands and she don't understand why the Dr won't help me? I feel more bad for her having a mom that can't do anything but rock back and forth in agony praying to Jesus! I'm a single mom, and all of this is just cruel! What's your next move? I have seen the name of a Dr on here a few times, if you go back thru the threads. I'm going to try to call today. I will let you know!

Its time we all write to Christie. This is bull. Today I went to my doctor - who I have been going to for over 20 years and she told me she was done with me. WTF! She apologized over and over again - but said that Christie left her no choice. I asked her what about me? WHO is talking for me??? She again said she was sorry - but the DEA and everyone else (blah blah blah) are threatening to take away her license and everyone else's - she then handed me my last script and wished me luck! LUCK! I have been on these narcotics for over 10 years - they are all that helps (I have lupus) and now I am going where/????? Pain management? WTF! Your kidding me right? The meds to not take away the pain - they make the pain tolerable.

Hi AC. Did u ever find a new doc? I live in Monmouth county and can't find a pain management doc that will give so much as an aspirin. I have neck + back problems, plus other pain that they say is directly linked to my back and neck. The only thing the docs want me to do is go to physical therapy, (which I've done 3x's, no help), go to the chiropractor, (did that), or more epidurals + nerve blocks. I've had so many needles that I stopped counting!! I am in so much pain that I actually considered surgery. But I was told it wouldn't help alleviate the pain. The only thing that helps is medicine, but like I said, I can't find a doc that will prescribe anything. I just had an epidural in February. It did nothing except make me roll around in pain again. I tried calling the doc to tell him how much pain I was in, but they're only in the office one day a week and they have NO answering service!! Needless to say I didn't go back. I am hoping that you or anyone reading this can help out with the name of a doctor, (in the Keyport/Middletown/Union Beach area, NJ) that will at least help with meds to try to stop or at least cope with the constant pain I am in.
Thanks much. LAR

Hi carmine. I was wondering if I can talk to you. I have been struggling to find a new Dr who will be off any help. The dr who was prescribing my medications is temporarily banned from presribing anything. I have chronic intractable pain. And chronic pain from hernia mesh complications as well as endometriosis in which I had a complete hysterectomy at the age of 28. Im 30 years old now and in the last 2 years, have had 8 abdominal surgeries. The hysterectomy, the original hernia surgery in which the mesh was implanted, gallbladder out, and then several surgeries to try to remove the mesh. Which they were able to get some out. But the rest is stuck in there forever. I will be like this the rest of my life. I am trying to finish school, and it is near impossible. I just don't know what to do anymore. All I want is to be able to live a somewhat normal life. I don't have unrealistic expectations, but I feel I deserve to be taken care of. My primary wanted me to be in palliative care, but since my pain isn't cancer pain, they couldn't take me. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
I hope to hear back from you and hope you are doing well.

Re: Shelly (# 84) Expand Referenced Message

Do they assist you with pain medications? I have Lupus but suffered a rib injury and have 4 disc herniations. I am going to a pain center for injections but they will not prescribe any medications.

Hi. I'm so confused on these posts. Has anyone found a PM doc that will prescribe pain meds? I had fusion on my lumbar last year and was prescribed many many pain meds while I was in the hospital for 15 weeks cuz something went wrong.. came out and stayed on meds, then boom - pm (nasty nasty doc) cuts it in half (I had not abused and even took myself off hydromorphone cuz I didn't want so much stuff); now just took away all my OxyContin and reduced me to 10mg 4x daily. Then he said it will all be taken away at my next visit in 2 weeks. I am in severe pain. I have another herniated disc w/ spinal cord compression, adhesive capsulitis and the fusion surgery left me in bad pain. My Pm doc said "deal with it". Won't even prescribe Advil or Aspirin. I need a decent doc in NJ who will give me even low doses of oxy's, especially while I do physical therapy as my pain increases. He says I don't fit the criteria for pain meds... not sure if excessive chronic pain isn't a criteria, but I would think a low dose of Oxys isn't asking too much. Even 10mg -2x daily of OxyContin and 15mg x4 or even 3x daily is asking too much. He gave me a clonidine patch 0.1mg to help and I have lyrica. Even took me off diazepam 5 mg. I need a doc who will give me something for chronic pain like I said. Not a lot. I'm in my 50's - don't abuse drugs... I am an honest person looking for some relief. I have heard if u r out looking for these drugs it's a red flag that u won't get them. If I can't then i will just live in pain. But does anyone know of a doc in NJ with a little more compassion and willing to prescribe low doses? Or have any suggestions for alternative meds? - not Advil or Tylenol.. My friend lives in Ohio and has no problem getting oxys and Xanax (which I don't take). Like I said I don't take large amounts nor do I take stuff just to take it. Suggestions please. Thank you.

You are only asking for trouble asking for a crazy amount like that.
I sympathize believe me but you have to get real or you will just be making life more difficult for others.
