I am an adult that has recently started a college class online and I haveingba very hard time oncentrating and keeping things in order. I am also procrastinating and then fining it hard to concentrate on reading and remember what I read. My mind wanders horribly. I am embarrassed tonjust gonask anyone.

You haven't already been diagnosed as having ADHD?

You can't just go to a doctor, declare that you have it, and ask for a specific medication to treat it. You need to consult a doctor first, so they can work with you to get a diagnosis, if there is something wrong, and then discuss your treatment options. Sometimes there are other factors at play, it isn't always ADHD.

As to Adderall, you definitely can't just ask specifically for it as a treatment, either. It does carry the risk of being habit forming, and theft/diversion are very common, so doctors do have to be cautious and make sure they only prescribe it to people it is appropriate for, there also a chance that if you do have ADHD, it might not be the right medication to help you.

The best thing you could do would be to make an appointment with your doctor, or a new doctor if you don't already have a PCP, and tell them that you've noticed some problems studying, and concentrating. Then, after discussing your symptoms, they can help you decide the next step.
