Do You Take The Blue Pills For Sprintec On Your Period
(Newest replies first)

I came on my period twice this month I started at the beginning of the month and I'm back on again at the end of the month while on my blue pills for sprintec, if I stop taking the pill and just wait until I get the next pack, will my period stop?

Hello, Sabrina! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.
Irregular breakthrough bleeding is normal for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to this medication and no, stopping them likely won't help, because the last week of the pack are actually placebo pills with no active ingredients that normally induce your period.
The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, weight gain, irritability and PMS-like symptoms.
If the bleeding is very annoying, or gets heavier, then you should consult your doctor as this may not be the right oral contraceptive for you.
Is there anything else I can help with?
