Dna Swab Test For Oxycodone

All the sudden when I was at my doc the other day I was told I have to take a dna test. I wasnt asked n I feel my privacy has been invaded I regret letting them do it now. I am prescribed 30mg ocycodone 8 of them a day. I ran out cause pharmacy couldnt fill it for a week later. So it happens every so often n when it does I take herion. Im in severe pain n I refuse to be in misrable pain n sick from withdrawal to. I have to be able to get up n walk n funtion daily. Anyways my question is will this test show the herion or any other drugs? Or is it specific in only checking ur levels for ocycodone? I dont like this at all its so wrong of them n to pop it outta no where n tell u thats what there gonna do is messed up! Please help if anyone knows the anwser to this im so nervous n scared for my next appointment. Im also tested every 6 months w a urinalysis so its crap the doc needs to know how it stays in ur system its all bs!!!

Lisa, you have a good question. As I type, you have probably already been to your doctor and your worry may be gone by now. Anyway, I am not 100% sure, but I believe the urine test is designed to detect the heroin or any other drugs (illicit). I too, for the first time walked into my Doc office last week and they begin swabbing my mouth saying it was to test for metabolic rate of the opioids "in case we need to switch you to something that works better". I had been complaining that the pain meds were not helping to reduce my pain enough. I think the mouth swab is mor specific and is testing to see the level of prescribed drug in your body. I DONT THINK MOUTH SWAB can detect heroin, UNLESS the doc specifically requests the lab to test for it.
