Nifedipine is a Calcium Channel Blocker, used to help control HBP, though it is also used as an antianginal.

You will find most blood pressure medications share the risk of pretty similar side effects, they can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.

There is no one medication that is the best BP drug for everyone. Some work better for some people than they do for others. That is why there are so many on the market and, sometimes, several are even used in combination for better BP control.

Another class used to help lower HBP are Ace Inhibitors, here's a link for information on those and the medications available:

There are also Beta Blockers:

Angiotensin Receptors:

and Diuretics:

This should help you learn what all BP medications are available, so you can discuss the various options with your doctor.

The same also goes for Arthritis treatment options, there is no one medication that works for everyone, it can vary from person to person.

And there are many different medications available to treat it. It really depends on the other medications you are on, your medical history, current medical conditions and what turns out to be most effective at helping you.

Here's more information on some of them:

has your doctor suggested anything?

I hope this information helps, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
