There is no pat answer to this, it varies depending on whether or not the person taking it already has a tolerance to opiates.

If a person is opiate tolerant then they would need a higher amount to put themselves in any danger, however, a person who is not used to taking narcotics, would require a much smaller amount to achieve a lethal dose.
