Dilaudid 8 Mg Tablet Pur

This pill is white it has a 8 on one side, and the other side has a p, a line down the middle, then a d like this p/d, or two pees one up side down like this p/q with a line down the middle. I've had dilaudid before it HELPED THIS DOES NOT. WHAT IS THE PUR ON THE END. PLEASE HELP.

The Pur was an abbreviation for the manufacturer of the tablets in question, that is also what the pd on one side of the pill stood for, Purdue Pharma LP. However, this tablet has been discontinued. Original NDC: 59011-0458

According to FDA records, these tablets contained 8mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a narcotic analgesic. They also warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Ref: Same Hydromorphone tablet listed under their licensed distributor, Rhodes Pharmaceuticals. NDC: 42858-338
