How many should i take if I was previously prescribed 40 mg of oxycodone? (never taken these before, so need help!)

I didn't even read your message. HELL NO I'm not taking them for recreation. I can barely walk with nerve pain. Have you ever dealt with it for MONTHS? If not, then SHUT UP.

I wasn't referring to your post. Please don't be angry, for I have several illnesses, myself, including scoliosis, which is now affecting the lower half of my body. I can't sit, stand, walk or sleep without it causing pain. My other illnesses are Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, (Lupus, RA, Scleroderma, which is the hardening of my organ walls and skin, and other associated illnesses), plus Crest Syndrome. So, I do know what pain is about. I didn't mention your name, in my post, I was referring to those who write about how they abuse it, for pleasure. These are the fools that are making it hard for chronic pain patients to get and keep our good doctors and our medications, that don't give us "Highs" but relieve our pain. I'm sorry if you took, my post personally, I wasn't addressing you.

If you send these posts to the President (which is just ridiculous) I would think the DEA would be knocking on your door... assuming he would even read the message of a drug addict, let alone agree that you should continue to abuse drugs.... I would also just bet MOST of you are just addicts and do NOT need that strength of narcotic pain medication! Seriously? All the people in their early 20s with such horrific pain....I doubt it. Get help for crying out loud and make your life count.

Yes l have the same problem. I was crushed between a tractor and an implement in July 2014. I have several disc screwed together in my back. Also broke all my ribs on one side and 3 on the other. I have tried bout all the pain meds too-but nothing seems to help. I'm taking 60 mg of morphine 2x a day and hydrocodone when needed.the last few nights been trying a 4gm of dilauldid that I had left over from before instead of the 2nd morphine pill. Been sleeping pretty good it must be working. I don't want to use to much pain Med but doesn't seem like l can stop the pain.

Dilaudid is a great pain reliever..all though very VERY addicting..my brother has had many back and heart surgeries..got addicted and began shooting up..not a good idea. hes had sepsis and has almost died 4 times from this..unclean needles isn't the only thing that can cause that though..when shooting up the good and the BAD bacteria goes straight to your heart causing infection. so stay away from the needles! But um..if you're looking for a pain pill that doesn't cause the loopy side effects i know tremadol works wonders.. its non narcodic but works just as well :)

I too have chronic back pain. i'm 23yrs old andi have a degenerative disk disease, scoliosis, rheumatoid arhritis in my lower back. I contribute some of my health problems to previous injuries. But in any case Dilaudids are a miracle drug.

I STARTED OUT ON 4MG AT FIRST, BUT TALK TO UR DOC TO SEE WHAT WOULD BE BEST FOR YOU.

I have been living on 4mg of dilaudid 4x per day and norco 10/325 for almost a year now for chronic functional abdominal pain syndrome... I notice when I don't take them on a consistent basis I am twice as ill as normal... I live with severe pain on a daily basis and they tell me there is no cure as it is a very rare condition

I have noticed over the past year though that the dilaudid pills don't seem to work as well as they use to... my dr. will not prescribe a higher dose, and I totally understand why... your body becomes so used to the drug being in your system it is almost impossible to live without it...

Granted, it is a great pain reliever and really makes a difference when I am in excrutiating pain, but is there anything else comparable? I feel like my body needs a change...

I want to take these 16mg exalgo er pills (hydromorphone er). Have a low tolerance to opioids, usually cannot take more than 35 mg oxycodone. Is it safe for me to take one of these? Could I overdose? Dont take the oxycodone every day, once a week. Thanks
