what is the difference between percocet and oxycontin?

Oxycontin is just a brand name for Oxycodone; it comes in various forms and is used to treat moderate to severe levels of pain.

Percocet contains Oxycodone + Acetaminophen; which is used for the same purpose.

I haven't personally taken either of the two, so I cannot give an evaluation on which one may be more effective or not.

thank you sooo much I wasn't sure about getting my MD change from percocet to oxycontin because theres a program that helps you pay for med if you dont have ins. Again thank you very much

Oxycontin and oxycodone are not the same thing. Oxycodone is a short release fast active drug. And oxycontin is a long lasting more addictive drug

Percocet is in the opioid family which means it is a natural pain killer and oxycontin is an opiate which means it has been genetically changed. it is basically man made H!
