Difference Between Citalopram&ic Citalopram Hbr

I got prescribed IC citalopram hbr 20 mg and my bf just got prescribed citalopram no IC or hbr? what is the difference?

I wants to know what is the difference between s-citalopram and citalopramhbr? I have been taking nexito-20mg for last 7years.But I am not 100% satisfied with the results.Hence I wants to know if I will shift to citalopram-hbr will it be more helpful for me?because Citalopram-gbr has doubled of s-citalopram as far as highest dose is concerned.i.e-up to 40mg.

There is no difference, other than in how that particular pharmacy or manufacturer is describing their medication. They are the same thing and treat the same things.

Citalopram is a generic for Celexa, this is an antidepressant.

Common side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and dry mouth.

If you read wikipedia, you will find that s-Citalopram is an uncommon name for the reformulated version of Citalopram which is currently marketed as Lexapro. I am not a medical professional, but if I understand correctly, Celexa (Citalopram Hbr) has two forms of a base compound in 50/50 proportions, only one of which helps with depression. But Lexapro/s-Citalopram/escitalopram has 100% of the effective form of the compund. Thus (my non-professional conclusion from things I have read), you will generally see dosages of Lexapro are half of equivalent doses of Celexa. Take this all with a grain of salt, but read wikipedia yourself and it might help you understand.
