Dextroamp Amphet Er 5 Mg

my son is 7 years old and is having a few problems in school because of hes adhd so his doctor suggest 5mg of dextoroamp-amphet er but for school only..( what ever that means )..is this a good idea and wht are the sideeffects?

This is a generic for Adderall, it is a stimulant that's used to treat conditions such as ADHD, narcolepsy and shift work sleep disorder.

Whether or not it's a good idea really depends on your son, if he really is that out of hand with ADHD and needs the help for school, then it might be good to try it, but if his condition is very mild, then a medication may not be necessary.

This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight loss and anorexia.

Taking it for school only helps keep the medication working for him longer, by having him take breaks from it on the weekends and during vacation times.

I've been on adderall on and off for the lat 10 years, I'm 29 yrs old now. When I was younger the doctors tried to put me on ridalin for my add but my parents wouldn't let them-- I'm thankful that they didn't at that time because one, your brain is still forming and two, it was important to learn how to study and function without it (although my hyperactivity probably made things more difficult for my parents and teachers).... No I feel extremely dependent on it. I'm a writer and I struggle to focus for longer than 20 minutes without it, and to be honest I wish I had never started taking it. If you can help your son find another outlet and a balance between school work for a few minutes and then doing what he likes for a bit before returning to his work I personally think that this is a better option.
