I am trying to do a rapid detox but I am decreasing 5mg every 3 days, I am at 20mg now, I was at 40, when I started 8 years ago I was at 180mg! I am starting to really feel the effects and I wanted to know if anyone had any advice on anything that could help me get through this because this is my second attempt, I failed the first time, I never got past 25mg, well I hit 20mg for 1 day. PLEASE let me know of anything that may help....thank you very much....

Hello, Margie! How are you doing?

Methadone is high addictive and very, very hard to detox from. A rapid detox is likely a bad idea and most likely why it didn't work the first time.

Most people never get off of Methadone and require a maintenance dose for life, the few that are successful do so only with medical help and a very slow detox procedure.
