what are the dangers of taking metformin hcl 500mg [high blood sugar] with prednisone,hydrochlorot[high blood pressure], an levothyroxin[thyroid] ?

i have been taking metformin 500mg for the last 8 years.by continuing this for so long and i am under control of my blood count which is below 110.does it affect my kidneys.
