Hello, Tiffany! How are you? Sorry about the migraines!
The name of the medication is actually Dilaudid, it contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, which is a very potent narcotic and yes, it has proven to work so well for migraines, that it's usually the drug of choice to treat them, when someone ends up in the ER with a severe one.
Since it is a narcotic, it does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness.
Learn more Dilaudid details here.
Is there anything else I can help with?
