Cymbalta Weight Gain

Started cymbalta med in late 2006. Initially, I lost about 8 lb and besides some other "bad" side effects, the results to this day are good and 'steady'. However, in the last four years the weight has started to creep up little by little to where I can not (even with modest excessive) get back down to where it was initially in 2006. Also, as I eat properly and very cautiously, the weight now drastically fluctuates from day to day. I believe my age, now 61, along with the 60mg of cymbalta, might demand at least ..now...35 minutes on treadmill three times a week for this initial weight loss to be restored....but I'm a bit lazy recently.....

Hello, Howard! How are you doing? Sorry about the weight issue.

On top of the issue with the weight gain, your recent laziness makes me wonder if the Cymbalta may no longer be working for you. You've been on it for years, so your body might have grown tolerant to it.

Have you consulted your doctor?

You may do better with a medication such as Prozac, which isn't known to cause weight gain.
