Cyclobenzaprine And Blood Pressure Meds.

I was prescribed cyclobenzaprine 5mg 3 times daily as needed for discomfort and diclofenac pot. 50mg once daily. My complaint was neck and shoulder pain. I was given an xray and was told it could be degenerative joint disease. I take Valsartan/hctz half of a 25mg pill. I took all 3 the other morning and what I would describe as butterfly feeling in my chest like 40 minutes after taking it. Should I stop taking it and call my dr.? It was the 1st time I had taken all 3.

The Diclofenac can affect your blood pressure medication, so it may not work as well for you. That may be what caused this symptom.

Yes, it would be best to speak to your doctor about the issue. They may want to adjust your dosage, or prescribe another medication.

As listed by the FDA, Valsartan and Diclofenac may also increase serum potassium, which has the potential to be dangerous and should be monitored regularly.
