Cutting Tablet For Half And Keep Them For Month

I preparing my medication weekly, means my Dr. prescribe 25MG twice daily, my insurance don't want pay for 25MG, they paying for 50MG and asking me to cut for half, my question is, after few days or few weeks the metoprolol still is good or lost already the strength because was cut for half.

No, it will still be fine. As long as a medication isn't time released, cutting it will not cause any change to its efficacy. My cardiologist prescribes my heart medication, (Losartan) like this to save me added expense, then I cut or break them to take twice daily.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Metoprolol as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

In many cases, your pharmacy can even make sure to fill your prescription with tablets that are scored for easier cutting/breaking.
