Can you cut the smz tmp in half and take one-half at a time?

Is there a score line (indent) on the pill? If there is, then it is there specifically for the purpose of cutting the pill in half. Whether or not there is a score line, I would still cut the pill in half if needed. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting a lower dose of this medication if you consistently feel the need to use half a dose. This drug has a lot of side effects, so it would be best to use a little a possible to get the job done, given your situation.
