Coumadin And Secere Headaches

i am TAKING COUMADIN for one time small DVT and have had SEVERE HEADACHES! my doctor only cares about that INR Levels; as pain is not important to him! As an experiment; I stopped the coumadin for one day and ZERO HEADACHE...when i resumed the coumadin....it came right back!!! any one else suffering with this unwanted side effect?

Headaches can be a side effect of Coumadin. How long have you been taking it? Usually, such side effects will taper off after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication.

And honestly, if your doctor isn't listening to you, then it might be time to consult a different doctor that's going to pay attention.

thank u for your input. i actually have been 'cleared' to STOP THIS RAT POISON! after ending up in the ER yesterday to rule out a stomach bleed. They did a new ultrasound and my leg clot is gone! THANK GOD! Bless those who have to take coumadin/Warfarin long term. I sympathize with them. My life was a nightmare the past 2 months with stomach issues/severe bone pain as well as headaches. I have learned through this and other web sites, i was not alone in my suffering from this drug. Thanks again for 'taking the time'.
