Cor 216
UpdatedI received pink round tablets which are labeled on plastic dispensing bottle as: DEXTROAMPHETAMINE 10 mg tab. Dextroamphetamine Sulfate Generic For DEXTROSTAT. One side imprinted cor 216 other side etched X. What is this medication & who is the manufacturer?

Hi Rich,
Just to confirm, those round pink pills marked with "cor" over "216" on one side and cross-scored "X" on the other, are exactly what you mentioned them to be (10mgs of Dextroamphetamine Sulfate).
This medication is commonly prescribed for the treatment of ADHD.
For verification, the manufacturer is reported to be CorePharma, based out of New Jersey; and these pills also carry a National Drug Code of 64720-216-10.
I hope this helps to answer your question!
Hey man,
Hate to the bearer of bad news but their is a good chance that the pink COR 216 are fakes. Apparently there is a legit version that looks like this (I think), but I believe there are fake ones going around as well.
If you got it with a prescription from a legit pharmacy, you're probably fine, if you got it off the internet it's probably bunk.
Not sure if you are allowed to post pics on this site, but if you are, throw one up. If there are fakes going around it's good for people to be able to recognize them.
What 2dull said may be true about fakes out there (wouldn't surprise me), I can't speak to that, but I just got my prescription of these 10 mg pink ones today (cor 216) for the first time, and they seem to work just as well if not better than the orange Barr brand generics I was previously taking, which surprised me. When I realized the pharmacy I use had switched to using CorePharma brand generic Dexedrine I was pretty pissed because I've read a lot of bad reviews about that manufacturer's meds, but these pills feel legit to me. I'm happy with them. Maybe just a good batch, who knows.
Interesting,
If possible could you post a close pic of your tabs? (both sides?)
As I said before, It's helpful for people to be able to identify their meds, even legit pharmacies get up to no good sometimes, isi especially with something like this, independent verification is good.
I tried to post a pic, didn't work. I think it's either impossible or against the rules for this site, but I can describe them in the best detail possible.
They're round and extremely light pink in color, almost borderline neon pink in my opinion. Both sides are very slightly raised above the rim (if that makes any sense), but they are otherwise completely flat on both sides. One side has "cor" in lower case letters directly above the number 216 for the ID imprint. On the other side of the tab there's what's been described as an "X" but it's really a perfect + or a double score so the tab can be broken into 4 equal 2.5 mg triangles. They easily break in half if needed, so they're not rock hard like some tabs I've seen. The last and possibly most helpful fact about them is that, at least according to my digital milligram scale, they weigh exactly 240 milligrams per tab, due to the fillers and binders and what not obviously.
That's the best I can do to describe the apparently legitimate 10 mg tabs, and I can definitely vouch for their potency and efficacy, but bear in mind I've only had them one day, actually it's about to be 2 days since I don't feel the least bit tired and it's almost 4 a.m. (a good sign I suppose) and I can tell I'll be getting little sleep tonight unfortunately, guess I'll get some school work done. Anyways hope the info helps. As usual YMMV.
Cool, well I'm glad your meds are working as they are supposed to. And the detailed description will help others verify what they've been prescribed if they have any doubts. Thanks :)
WHAT PHARMACY DID YOU GET THE DEXTROSTAT 5MG OR 10MG COR 216 PILLS FROM? IM IN OHIO AND CANT FIND A PHARMACY N E WHERE THAT CAN GET ME THEM.
It doesn't sound as though he got them from a pharmacy, or using them for the treatment of ADHD -- forgive my assumption based on comments made.
To answer your question, Justin, I just had a prescription filled on Monday at Jewel-Osco and they were the only pharmacy in the entire state (Illinois) seemingly that carried CorePharma Dex. I called Target, Wal-Mart, CVS, Costco, Sams Club, and two independent pharmacies and no one even had Dextroamphetemine, let alone a specific manufacturer.
From what I understand, the reason Corep works as well as brand name is because Corep bought Dex Brand from GlaxoSmithKline, so they manufacturer both Brand Name and Generic. I read that from multiple sources, including an excerpt from the FDA.
Hope this helps.
