Any doctor can write such a prescription, there are no special ones that it's restricted to, so it could be written by their current treating physician. There are just only certain pharmacies that specialize in compounding such medications.

However, even compounding medications isn't going to do away with the risk of side effects.

What types of problems is the patient experiencing?
