Coming Off Losartan Safely
UpdatedI have been taking losartan 50 mg for over 6 years. My hair has started to fall out, and would like to know how to wean off of it, with out too many side effects. Can any one please help? Have tried just not taking it, but the headaches where unbearable! I am now taking one every other day, then going to try and stretch it out to one every 3rd day and so on...does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? My hair is so thin now, its getting me down, I'm only just 50, but my hair looks like I'm 80! HELP!!

Hello, Dixie! How are you?
Have you consulted your doctor about trying a different medication?
If you are taking this to treat high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, and stop taking it, which could allow things to go out of control, you could be putting your life at risk, rather than just experiencing hair loss.
The U.S. FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
