Coming Off Butrans
UpdatedHi my dad aged 81 has been on butrans and stepped them up as advised by the doctor until he reach 25....this made him very sleepy so he took the patches off and has now for over a week suffered what i can only describe as cold turkey....has anyone any idea how long this will last

How long was he on them?
Depending on the length of time, it may take a few weeks for the withdrawal effects to wear off. As listed by the FDA, they may include nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound pain.
Has he considered going back on them, but at a lower dose? It's an option he could discuss with his doctor.
