This is an antibiotic and they can sometimes help with acne, however, this isn't the one that's usually used. It would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe something appropriate. Taking it, when you shouldn't be, creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, which can be very dangerous.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headaches, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
