Clonodine Stinging Allergy

I've been taking clonodine for 3 years for hypertension. It works. However for the past 2 and a half years I've had annoying intermittent stinging/tingling/itching on my shoulders. Enough to keep me from sleeping occasionally. I've tried every cream, lotion, no alcohol, no sugar, and more but nothing stops the irritation. Now I'm wondering if it could be the build up of clonodine in my system.thx for your thoughts on this.

Hello, Debbie! How are you?

This medication is known to cause dilation in the veins of the neck, as reported by the U.S. FDA, so that could be causing what you're experiencing, especially since blood flow changes, once you law down and while sleeping.

Other typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hypotension and insomnia.

Have you discussed this issue with your prescriber? They may have some ideas to help alleviate it, so you can sleep.
