Clindamycin Side Effects

I had an extraction on an abscess tooth about a week ago. Since I've been on clindamycin I've been sleepy and tired all the time. A little confusion as well, not much, but enough for me to notice. Is it normal for you to feel tired? I feel drowsy all the time since I've been taking it.

This is a more rare side effect, but yes it does happen. Your body is fighting an infection of sorts. You will be tired.

Opp is correct, those can be normal side effects of this antibiotic, as reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, and diarrhea. It can also be coupled with symptoms of the infection, which will also take awhile to go away.

How much longer will you be taking it? Are you on any other medications?

Has there been any change?

Not all antibiotics work for everyone that tries them, so please keep an eye on it and return to your dentist, if there is no improvement.

Hello. I completed 10 days of oral keflex and 7 days of bactrim for an umbilical abscess which was 3.5cm deep. Last week it was 3cm deep and I was changed to clindamycin 300mg 3x daily for 7 days after cultures came back. After 3 doses they closed rapidly. Is this possible or is it closing from the outside?
